It is with great joy and excitement that the Israeli Reform family adds four new rabbis to its ranks. Rabbi Noa Sattath, Rabbi Galit Cohen-Kedem, Rabbi Merav Kalush and Rabbi Ian Chesir-Teran were ordained at the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion on 21 Chesvan, 5775, November 13, 2014. These four rabbis join 120 other Reform rabbis in Israel, serving over 45 communities across the country. at a time during which is seems as though there is nothing of greater necessary than a Jewish-Israeli voice which promotes moderate values and actions of respect for all human beings, tolerance and the seeking and pursuing of peace, the ordination of these four rabbis represents a ray of light withdrawing much of the darkness. We are proud of their achievements to this day and are confident that this is only the beginning.
