IMPJ Education System in Jerusalem

The Education department is involved in coordinating all the IMPJ educational institutions in Jerusalem in order to create an educational continuity between all the preschools and schools identified with the Movement in Jerusalem.

The variety of preschools and schools affiliated with the IMPJ allow parents to send their children to educational institutions which educate towards progressive Judaism from the age of two to 18. We aspire to a situation in which more and more families will send their children the entire route from nursery school to high school. In order to achieve this goal we organize activities and events which aim to strengthen the connection between the students’ families and the schools. These activities try to create a supportive community among the parents in order to better acquaint them with the IMPJ.

Most of the activities are concentrated at points of transition between the institutions that is between the preschool classes in Kol Haneshama and Harel to the kindergartens of Ganei Haim; between Ganei Haim and the elementary school Tali Bayit Vegan and between that and Tali Beit Hinuch a junior high-high school.

IMPJ rabbis and student rabbis are invited to lead activities in the schools during the school year in order to strengthen the students’ Progressive Jewish identity in addition to strengthening the connection between the rabbis and the IMPJ educational institutions in the city.
